The Birthday Sister Bride! 27 years young..

Just 17 months before I was born, my parents welcomes their second beautiful daughter, Mary Katherine Watson! Fast forward 17 months, I was born and from then on Kat and I have formed a friendship/relationship that only sisters can form. From dance to karate practices to high school to college and now here we are marrying the men of our dreams just 3 months apart. We always tell people that it is our parents fault that they have two weddings 3 months apart but after all, we are only 17 months apart. Your wedding is a special time but even more so when you get to experience it with your sister, who is also experiencing the same excitement. These past 11 months have been the time of our lives and I couldn't imagine not having my sister bride beside me through it all. I can't wait for your BIG day and to see your dream come true in just 52 short days! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and soon to be wife! John is one lucky guy to have you in his life! Hope your last birthday as a Watson was the best ever! I love you!

Happy Birthday Daddy K!

Today is my father-in-law, Colonel Peter Alan Kubas' birthday! It's always hard to celebrate a special occasion with Alex's family when they are so far away but we always try and let them know how much we love and miss them. Daddy K is a special man in Alex's life and now in mine. He is a great husband and father and I feel honored to call him my father-in-law. Thank you for everything you do for us, Daddy K, especially fighting for our country and giving us the freedom that we wouldn't have if it weren't  for men{and women} like you! We hope you had a great day and we miss you more than you know. We can't wait until our families are together in one place again but until then we will enjoy and take advantage of our awesome vacations! We love you, Daddy K!

Gamecock Baseball- Opening Weekend!

I thank the good lord for giving me a husband who adores Gamecock sports just as much as I do! I grew up going to Gamecock sporting events since I can remember and in our family, we DON'T like orange or Clemson! Alex is an army brat and moved to Columbia in 2004 and quickly became a Gamecock. He is about as big of a Gamecock fan as my dad, almost. When we were picking a date for the wedding, we had to make sure that there was no possible way that Carolina would be playing in a bowl game on January 6th. I'm okay with Alex's obsession of the Gamecocks because after all, I was born and raised a Die hard Gamecock Fan! Anywho, back to Gamecock Baseball! Alex and I left work and headed to meet my parents at Carolina Stadium for Opening Day. Joanna and Joe ended up going as well and we all had a blast in the perch watching the Back to Back National Champs get a victory!

We Hail Thee Carolina!

Dad caught a foul ball for Watson and got Freshman catcher Grayson Greiner to sign it!

Getting former Gamecocks Bobby Haney and Adrian Morales to sign a book Bobby wrote.

Beautiful site! End of Game 1!

Dad wanted to take Watson to the game saturday since Mom wasnt going to go because of work. We picked Watson up and Dad, Watson, Alex and I headed to Carolina Stadium for Game 2! Due to inclement weather on Sunday, they moved the third game to Saturday and there was a double header! I don't know who enjoyed the day more, my dad or Watson. Dad has been waiting to take his grandson to Carolina Baseball for a long time and he just loved having Watson there and seeing Watson's excitement when "he throwed the ball" and then Watson laughing.

{WARNING: PICTURE OVERLOAD}
Ready for Gamecock Baseball!

He was in awe!

Lunch Break!

That face cracks me up!
New Baseball Hat that Granddaddy bought!

Such a handsome little guy! He is ready to go now!

Checking out the Back to Back National Championship Trophies!

He thought it was funny that the guys inside Coach Tanner's office were facing him, too cute!

CHEESEEE!!!

Love these two!

Dad was trying to steal Watson's ice cream and Watson wasn't having it!

Cocky came to visit! He was a little nervous but didn't cry! He did great and even pounded it with Cocky!

 Granddaddy and Watson watching Cocky!
 And he made it through two Gamecock Baseball games without a nap and didn't go to bed until 10:30 that night! What a trooper!
All the goodies from the day! Watson and Boland's foul balls signed by Carolina Baseball players! {Watson got his hat signed by Whit Merrifield, Parker Bangs & Peter Mooney}

Side Note: A year ago today is when Alex proposed to me. Alex had been at the Carolina baseball game with my dad all day before we headed to D's and then he proposed so we thought it was only right to head to D's for dinner just the two of us after the long day at the ball field!

Opening Weekend was perfect! The Gamecocks are 3-0!! Nothing better than Gamecock Baseball with my husband! We can't wait to go back! GO COCKS!

Our {First} Married Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!! I love being sappy and Valentine's day is just an excuse to be just that! Although, I usually get made fun of by my family{dad} for being affectionate on the social network, I love being that way. Our first Valentine's day as husband and wife was perfect! I wasn't expecting much because after all this was our 5th Valentine's together. I am all about the little things in life and that is what I love the most. I love knowing that Alex thought something out and took the time to do something knowing that it would make me smile. For instance, Alex knows the first place I go in the morning is the refrigerator to get my lunch and breakfast, so he decided to place my Valentine's card that read "To My Beautiful Wife" in the handles of the fridge, which was very surprising. To many, that isn't a big deal at all, but when I saw that, all I could do was smile.

As I got ready to leave for work, I thanked him and we said our Goodbyes and I left for work. As I got to work, I texted him saying how it made me smile that little things like that, makes me happy and he just kept saying "The day is still young". As we were texting throughout the morning, he told me to keep my phone near. Around noon, Alex texts me to go downstairs to the front of my building because there was something for me. I knew he was up to something and walked downstairs to the front and found a bouquet of roses waiting for me from my sweet husband. {Side note: I walked out of my way on the way back up to my desk just so that I could avoid as many people staring at me with the flowers because I knew my face would turn bright red HA!}

I love my flowers! It made the day even better but like I told Alex, even if he didn't send me flowers, the card in between the handles of the fridge made my day enough. Something about Alex putting that much thought into putting my card in a creative place that made my day! Anywho, I texted him and told him thank you for the flowers and his response again, "The day is still young"! I left work and stopped by a few places to get the rest of Alex's Valentine's day stuff and he text me saying "Are you home yet?". hmmmm! Nope, but why would he be asking that? I got home only to see ANOTHER card on top of the first one that I opened earlier that read Elizabeth Boland KUBAS, and yes Kubas was in all CAPS. I contemplating whether or not I should text him and let him know that I no longer go by Boland and that my name is now Elizabeth Watson Kubas. Haha, poor thing knew he wrote it wrong as soon as he wrote it.

Alex called me after he got off work and told me to go upstairs and not come down until he said I could. Make a long story short, he was planning on making me dinner and was going to surprise me but instead, we decided to make dinner together for our first Valentine's together as husband and wife. I love cooking but when I can cook with my husband, it's even better. Before we started cooking I let him open his gifts from me..
Floating Cooler!

A Husband's Bouquet! Perfect!

Alex and I enjoyed cooking dinner together in our pjs and had the perfect first Valentine's day as a married couple. We wouldn't trade what we have for anything and we don't need any fancy jewelry or dinners to show each other how much we love each other.

Happy Valentine's Day to my handsome husband! I love you!

One!

A month ago today, I woke up knowing that when I went to bed that night, I would be a married woman. A month ago today, Alex and I stood in front of our closest family and friends and said "I Do". A month ago today, I became Mrs. Alexander Ryan Kubas! I am still getting used to seeing my name as Elizabeth Kubas or seeing a wedding band on Alex's finger but we are loving married life! Everyone keeps asking me, "How's married life?" My answer is always "It's wonderful". Some people are quick to respond with "Oh the honeymoon stage, you'll grow out of it". To me, that isn't very comforting to a 25 year old woman who has only been married for 4 weeks, but I know I wouldn't have it any other way. I love the fact that I come home from work to start dinner or I come home knowing that Alex will be right behind me. Married life is great and everything that I expected. We are settling into "our Home" and marriage just perfectly and can't wait for what the future holds. Here's to another month ahead of us!
